Bristow
Chris
Bristow is a qualified relationship counsellor and sex therapist
who has helped many individuals and couples to make positive
changes and thus reach greater fulfillment in their lives.
He
offers a warm and genuine relationship to clients and always
respects individual values, personal choice, resources, culture,
ethnicity and sexual orientation.
Chris
works integratively by utilising skills gained studying Psychodynamic,
Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural techniques and it
is this flexibility that enables him to work most effectively
towards meeting individual clients' needs. He is committed
to confidentiality, personal supervision, ongoing training
and professional development.
As a member of BACP he is bound by its Ethical Framework for
Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject
to its Professional Conduct Procedure. Membership of the British
Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy (BASRT) also
ensures that his work as a sex therapist is bound by a strict
ethical code.
Chris
joined Relate seven years ago after befriending the depressed
and suicidal for ten years as a Samaritan volunteer. He qualified
as a relationship counsellor in 2000 and went on to achieve
Relate's psychosexual therapy diploma in 2002. He still works
for Relate Herts Central branch, as a relationship counsellor
and sex therapist.
Chris
has helped individuals and couples with a broad range of problems
including loss, abuse, domestic violence, self-esteem, anger
management, communication problems, stress, infidelity and
sexual problems.
He
runs a private practice in central St Albans, plus therapy
rooms in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead. Alternatively, he can visit
you at your home in Hertfordshire/North London. Chris normally
sees clients weekly. Fees range from £40-£50 per
hour with some concessions.
