BACP Registered Counsellor

Having been a Counsellor for over 27 years and more recently a Neurolinguistic Practitioner and Meridian Therapist, Marie has developed a model of couple counselling wherein couples may find compassion and understanding that can heal their deepest pain and anxieties.

Marie empowers her clients to effectively communicate their needs and truths, without fear or blame. In this way clients will hopefully develop a growing awareness of the help they need to overcome in what may feel an insurmountable mountain of unhappiness and despair. These emotions polarise and distance individuals from each other; feelings of inadequacy and traumatic tensions often emerge and priorities diminish.

Marie is very aware that couple work can be demanding and intense. In expressing feelings openly, clients need to feel validated and safely held within the counselling process. Couple counselling is often a turning point bringing with it both gains and losses. It may mean that a couple will not remain together. However, successful counselling facilitates people as individuals, with an aim that they will be able to find a solution to their own concerns, once they discover more, not only about themselves but also of the other.
