Many
couples find themselves struggling to resolve difficulties
in their relationship at some point. Problems may be linked
with ongoing conflict, frustration and disappointment, family
change and transition, affairs, sexual difficulties or just
the feeling that something is missing. As a couple counsellor
I aim to provide the space and support to help couples consider
and understand the issues and behavioural patterns which often
underlie these problems. This, I believe, can provide both
partners with greater awareness of the possibilities for change
and the potential for growth.
My
approach to working with couples is integrative; I combine
ideas from psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive models of
understanding couple dynamics, and I endeavour to work in
a creative and collaborative way.
I
am BACP accredited and have been working as a counsellor for
over 10 years. I have a degree in psychology, an MA in counselling
and have also trained with Relate and the Centre for Gender
Psychology as a couple counsellor.
I
have a private practice in Windsor, Berkshire.
